BR MUSTAFA RASHID STAYS ON AS SEC.

May 8, 2008: Further to the Elections of KSIMC of Dubai held approx. 2 weeks ago and as per the Constitution whereby the Hon. Secretary is a personal appointee of the President Elect, the Managing Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Br. Mustafa Sadiq Rashid as the Hon. Secretary General of our Jamaat.

Br. Mustafa brings vast experience having served the community as Secretary General in the past committee's as well as in other various capacities and undoubtedly will add tremendous value in this role. We are positive that Mumineen will accord him the necessary support and assistance in dispatching the Secretariat duties.

Let us pray to the Almighty to grant the Incoming Mananging Committee the Tawfeeq to serve in the best way possible for the benefit of our Community and reward them amply for this noble work - Ameen.

April 25, 2008: Br. Shabbir Damji is the new president elect following elections at Satwa Imambarghah this evening.

The remaining positions in the committee were also elected, as were the Auditor and Electoral Commission.

April 11, 2008: As announced earlier and as per the Notice and Accounts placed on the Jamaat Notice Board, the Annual General Meeting of the Jamaat will be convened on Friday April 25, 2008 at Satwa Imambargah from 1:30 pm onwards with the following Agenda:

2:30 pm sharp onwards:
a. Confirmation of minutes of Adjourned Half Year General Meeting held on Saturday 8 December, 07.
b. Discuss, update & address matters arising
c. President's Report.
d. Secretary General's Report.
e. Treasurer's report and adoption of the preceding year's Audited accounts.
f. Appointment of Auditor.
g. Election of President.
h. Elections of Office Bearers and Executive Committee members.
i. Election of the Electoral Commissioner and of the Electoral Commission.

DJYA WEBSITE GOES LIVE!

April 5, 2008: The DUBAI JAMAAT YOUTHS ASSOCIATION website has been launched!

The DJYA website consists of useful information from e-books to Aaalim Online - now, Youths can ask a question online and receive a reply from Shk. Mohd Rashid! Youths also have access to information on colleges universities - all under one "virtual" roof.
Photographs of DJYA past events have already been uploaded, and this section will be updated with new event details. There is also an online directory with mobile numbers of Youth members.

SENIOR GENTS COMMITTEE FORMED

April 1, 2008: In an effort to enhance the activities of our dear Seniors and as per the suggestions made in the last AGM to form a Seniors Committee, KSIMC of Dubai is pleased to announce that in the last outing that was held there was an overwhelming response and attendance by our Seniors whereby individuals where chosen to head and be part of the Seniors Committee.

We are pleased to inform you that AlHaj Ebrahim Kermalli was chosen to Head the Seniors Committee. His Committee comprises of AlHaj Hussain Manji as the Secretary and AlHaj Yusufbhai Asaria, AlHaj Mohamedbhai Suleiman and AlHaj Kassim Manji as the Committee Members.
 
On behalf of the Managing Committee, we thank Br. Ebrahim and his team for accepting the role of enhancing the activities of the Seniors. With the full support of the Managing Committee, we wish them all the success in their Social or Religious programs.

SUMMERCAMP WITH A DIFFERENCE!

March 24, 2008: The Education Board of KSIMC Dubai is pleased to announce the first ever specially designed Spoken Arabic Language Course for boys aged 17-29.

LADIES MILAD AN NABI FESTIVITIES

March 22, 2008: The Ladies section of Dubai Jamaat has organized 3 evenings of festivities to celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (S).

The programs will include qasidas, discussions, competitions, daily draws, airline ticket & awards for zakira's, volunteers and senior citizens.

Be part of the celebrations on March 22, 23 & 25 (Saturday, Sunday & Tuesday) from 4.15pm to 6.15pm.

March 21, 2008: The Islamic Institute for Postgraduate Studies in Sayyida Zainab (A), Damascus (Syria) is a new and exciting development in teaching and research in the study of Islam. It is an independent institute set up by The World Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities that combines standard Islamic Seminary training modules with modern academic subjects.

The person leading this effort is Br. Jaffer Dharamsi, who we had the pleasure of hosting this morning at Satwa Center.

February 18, 2008: This is to inform you that the Elections of KSIMC of Dubai is scheduled to be held on Friday April 25, 2008 from 1:30 pm onwards after Zohrain Namaaz.

The Electoral Commission comprises of:

* Members - Br. Ramzan Kassimali & Br. Anver Hemraj

As per the constitution, the Electoral Commission invites all Jamaat Members who wish to contest for the post of President for the term 2008 - 2010 to submit their nomination in writing duly proposed and seconded by eligible members to the Electoral Commissioner by the deadline of Monday March 24, 2008.
