The zarbat of Imam Ali A.S

1. O my Master, tonight for the iftar you came as a guest,

Said to your darling from the three (food), remove the best & your father will be satisfied with the rest.

2. Lookin up towards the sky, wondering when will it be time to say good bye,

To this dunya (world) that crushed our Master step by step, with all the torture & misries, Ali could do nothing but to adapt.

3. To finally go home he was preparing,
Because Allhuma baarikli fil moth he was supplicating.

4. On his way out the ducks called,
O Mawla! Today isn't a normal day,

Pleading with their Master not to make the Masjid his way.

5. To the divine decree his decision was made,

And your beloved brother (Holy Prophet  S.A.W.) who awaits you, his mind has said.

6. O ibn-e-Muljim, Imam awoke him by saying, this is the way of Shaitan who uses his belly while sleeping,

Do not try to fool your Master, for Ainul-Lah knows about the poisoned sword that you are hiding.

7. O people of Kufa, today is Ali's last adhan that you will hear,

For his heavenly departure, you will soon have to bear.

8. As our Imam stands on his prayer mat, and from to qiyam to ruku,
he goes to his last sajdah for the final time,

O people of Kufa, don't you see the crushed one from the latter periods who runs to kill your Master with a deadly sword,

I plead to you, stop! stop! Ibn-e-Muljim from commiting this horriifying crime.

9. As ibn-e-Muljim strikes the Holy Imam on his blessed head with a violent blow, causing blood to flow,

O children of Bani Haashim, I' am afraid to tell you, your father who didn't sleep in the nights, now needs a death bed.

10. Fuztu wa Rabbil Ka'aba were his last aklaam (words),

O mo'mineen! let us go to Kufa & give our salaam.

11. Tahadamat wal-Lah arkaanil huda between the earth & sky, came Jibraiel's voice with such saddness,

Tell me O Mo'mineen, after Abul A'iemah (The Father of the Imams) can there ever be any happiness?

12. Alas O Shias of Ali! Ibn-e-Muljim has done his job,

And there isn't anything we can do till the end of time but to sob.

13. Ali's holy face that is now filled with his dm (blood),

O Mawla! to clean your face, can we come?

14. The books of history O ibn-e-Muljiim, how could you have blacken?

With your deed, the pillars of guidance have been shaken.

15. Upon you! O ibn-e-Muljim, curses we will recite,

With the Awaited Saviour to seek revenge, we pray we have the might.

16. To that sacred land of Najaf, for your ziayrat O Mawla! is what we desire,

And to be buried in Wadius salaam next to you! is truly what we aspire.
