Dear brothers and sisters,

Salamun Alaikum,

Imam Jaffer Sadiq (A.S) has said, "Nothing follows a person after his death except 3 things: -

1 - The alms and charity that he may have executed by the grace of Allah in his life & which continues on after his death (e.g. sawab-e-jari)

2 - A decent & good tradition left over by him which is put into practice after his death (e.g. spreading knowledge)

3 - A pious son who prays for him (e.g. fateha for marhum)" - Tuhful Aqool, page 363

What better way to hit 3 birds with one stone. As the cost of higher education rises, the Education Board gives you the opportunity to sponsor the children of our community to go to colleges and universities if they cannot otherwise afford to do so. Our surveys initially done in 2001 showed that we would not be able to handle the influx of students applying in the next 1 to 2 years. Our aim is to ensure that Inshallah one day EVERY single one of our adults is educated.

You can help us achieve this goal by contributing towards the Dirham-a-Day (DAD) scheme. The scheme is geared towards contributing one dirham (i.e. Dhs 365/-) a day per member in your family for 5 years but you can contribute as much as you wish. We will then disburse this money to deserving students who will pay us back after completing their education, thus ensuring that the money is recycled to new students. The scheme is open to everyone, however, only 5-year jamaat members qualify for a loan.
